Peninsula Recycles

WE CAN RECYCLE MORE

and WASTE LESS

With Single Stream Recycling now available in the Village of Peninsula, recycling just got easier. There is no need to separate your cans from your plastics or bottles from your paper. Everything goes in your curbside recycling container.

In 2015 Village of Peninsula residents recycled 63.7 tons of trash, while 346.7 tons of trash went into the landfill. Let’s recycle more in 2016!

Simple Recycling:

The Village of Peninsula has partnered with Simple Recycling, based in Solon, Ohio, for the curbside collection of clothing, shoes, textiles, and household goods. This program accepts reusable items as well as torn, stained, and otherwise irreparable clothing, linens, and working, small appliances that can be moved by one man.

How it works:

On your regularly scheduled recycling day, Peninsula residents place materials curbside, inside special bags provided by Simple Recycling. Special labeled tags are also available if you have household goods that are easier to box up. Simple Recycling will replenish your bag and tag supplies as you use them. To request additional bags, visit their website at www.simplerecycling.com/supplies, contact Simple Recycling at 216-438-7109, or simply stop by the Village Hall and request bags & tags Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, 85% of textiles are not donated or recycled. That equates to an average of 70 pounds of textiles per person being thrown away every year. The Village of Peninsula is asking its residents to help lower those statistics by recycling clothing, shoes, and other household textiles. For information and a complete list of accepted items please call 1-866-835-5068 or visit: Simple Recycling
