Holiday Celebrations in Peninsula
Thursday, December 5, at 6pm come to the Bronson Green for the Christmas Tree Lighting. This will be followed by a concert in Bronson Church by choirs from Woodridge and Kent Roosevelt high schools. The carolers will walk through the Village singing holiday music. Stores will have wonderful items for sale. For example, River Light Gallery will have roasted chestnuts and macadamia chocolates. The library will be showing the classic movie “Remember the Night” at 6pm. In the Boston Township Hall at 6:30pm “A Hollywood Christmas” will be presented by Bill Brauning. Great holiday movies featuring musical scenes from movies like Holiday Inn, White Christmas, Frozen, The Polar Express and many others will be shown as well as a few Christmas-themed variety show scenes. Two raffle baskets will also be on display at Trail Mix Peninsula and the Peninsula Coffee House will have a harpist from 4pm-6pm. Purchase a ticket for $5 and perhaps win a basket filled with items from area businesses and patrons. Baskets will be displayed starting November 29th. The Methodist Church will be open from 5pm-8pm for music and fellowship.
On Saturday, December 7, come meet the reindeer by the Bronson Church. This event will run from 12:30-3:30. Antlers can be purchased for $5, participate in Elf on the Shelf, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and continue to the library to write letters to Santa.
New this year is Toys for Tots in conjunction with the CVSR, PACC, Peninsula Foundation, and The Marine Corps Reserves of Brookpark. Please bring new unwrapped gifts and head over to the caboose outside Trail Mix Peninsula and drop it off. Some of our businesses might have containers as well, let’s make the December holidays special for all of the kids that live in our area!
