VOP Area Master Plan
Purpose
- The purpose of this project is to:
- Analyze Peninsula’s distinct character and heritage.
- Identify the community’s objectives and priorities for future development.
- Assess the potential impacts of the introduction of new utility services, specifically in supporting new private development.
- Create implementation strategies for identified projects and initiatives
Approach
Outcomes
- The outcomes of this study will:
- Compile a list of priority projects along with strategies for their implementation.
- Design guidelines to ensure that future projects conform to the community’s desired aesthetic and functional standards.
- Identify potential areas for future investment or redevelopment.
- The final Area Master Plan will be presented to the Village Planning Commission and Village Council for review, evaluation, approval, and implementation.
The project is divided into four phases, as shown. The first two phases involve the project team listening to and learning from the steering committee, stakeholders, and community members and providing input on existing projects, issues, and opportunities. Following the listening, the consultant team will develop a list of priority projects, which will be confirmed by the steering committee. Those projects will have design solutions associated with them, which will then be shared with the committee through a series of engagement opportunities, including a digital survey and open houses. The final product will include an overview of the priority projects, design recommendations, and funding sources to see them come to life.
Project Schedule
The following is the proposed project schedule. Please note that all dates are tentative. Once dates, times, and locations are official, official meeting notifications will be advertised and shared.
